How to Legally Mine Keywords from Your Competitor’s Websites

I’ve posted a new post at searchengineherald.com about the above topic and I would like to give an indepth example of this one complete with screen caps so you can fully understand and see how to do this.

This is exactly the same techniques some SEO’s use and they DON’T WANT you to know about it. I’m spilling beans right now so better bookmark this webpage so you can get back to it later as a very good reference when you do your keyword research.

So here’s one actual example of how to do this in detail.
If for example, I am into real estate and I would like to find keywords for “condominium”, I’ll probably type this at Google.

inurl:awstats.pl intitle:”Statistics of” condominium

Google returned this page

I tried clicking the first one and got this

Oh…what lovely keywords. These are the actual keywords people use to reach that specific website.

Think about how powerful this technique is! It saves you tons of money and time on keyword research. Now go out and use it!

Matt Cutts’ Photo Found in Wikia’s Viagra Search Results

I was reading about wikia and I found out that they will be having a beta launch on Jan 7. We’ll, it is already January 7 so I tried going to the site to check it out.

The search results seem pretty ok for me so I wondered if search engine spammers were already getting a hold of some pretty valuable keywords like “viagra”.

I then went to http://alpha.search.wikia.com/ and keyed in “viagra” and lo and behold, there was an image at the right side of the screen with a title “People Matching Viagra”. The guy looks very familiar to me and it looks like one of the famous people in the SEO community.

I then moved my mouse over the image and then it says “Matt Cutts”.

Geez! I don’t know if this is some prank or what but I think the search engine war between Google and Wikia has started!!!

I wonder how would Matt Cutts respond to this? Will he put Jimmy Whales photo in google images? (http://images.google.com/images?q=viagra)

4. Do another one for dnsstuff.com and click block again

5. click close

6. Click Show CookiesÂ

7. type dnsstuff

8. click remove cookieÂ

9. keep on clicking remove cookie until all dnsstuff.com cookies are deleted.

10. click Close.

11. Enjoy your new found freedom to use dnsreport

Danny Sullivan to launch on Search Engine Land

On Dec 11, Danny Sullivan will launch Search Engine Land. Danny is one of the big names in SEO/SEM industry.

Danny along with Chris Sherman and Barry Schwartz, will be delivering fresh information about search engine marketing (SEM) and search engines in general. Sullivan and Schwartz will start blogging in on the launching day. Sherman will join them on the first week of January next year.

Are your Search Engine Rankings going down?

As a quick summary of the article, here’s a snippet on what might have caused the drop.

There are numerous reasons why your site dropped in search engine ranking. Reasons include change in search engine ranking algorithm, loss of PageRank or link popularity, bad or broken links, search engine penalty, and the missing www’s syndrome (incorrect url).
Another is that your competitors continue doing SEO on their sites which is why your site is going down the SERPs. Sometimes, there isn’t anything wrong with your site. It is just that your competitors are moving ahead, leaving you behind.

In the recently concluded Business Blogging Summit, Jason Calacanis raised the issue of paid bloggers.

Then we have people who come along – like Payperpost. Now we get into the evil part of me. I care when somebody comes into this beautiful place where trust and authenticity matters. And then these people come in and they get into trickery. If you go selling your posts and not disclosing it, that’s not innovative, thats lying.

SEO Philippines BEERCON 2006

Thanks to our major sponsor lakeside technologies, we again have a nice SEO gathering with good food and drinks.

So paypal is finally in the Philippines huh? But before you jump for joy, there’s just one thing you can do with it and that is

a. SEND MONEY.

You cannot

a. Receive money

b. Load up the account thru credit card

c. Withdraw funds

So it’s now just a one way street. Money just goes out and not coming in. This only allows you to buy items on internet stores that use paypal as their credit card processor.

Is it just the Philippines or are some of other countries also in the same boat?
